Dogs need DHA and EPA in their diet for a range of reasons, including a healthy skin and coat; brain and joint health. Salmon is also a vital sources of protein, B vitamins, vitamin D3 and selenium. Dogs need vitamin D3 in their body to as it is a key component in the regulation and absorption of calcium and phosphorus in the body. Selenium helps protect bone health, works in conjunction with vitamin E to prevent oxidative stress and damage to cells; and may reduce the risk of cancer.
